Can you help Evie?
Evie is in need of a forever home
Since arriving into rescue and being with her foster family Evie has made huge improvements and we feel she is ready to look for her forever home, although she has not been spayed yet due to her coming into season. She will be adopted on a contract to spay, which will be paid for by Wolfdog Rescue. Evie was not well socialised previously so has been learning about the outside world and has been having fun investigating the great outdoors.
Evie can still be nervous in some new situations although she accepts and responds well to gentle reassurance. She was very nervous of traffic, but this has improved massively and will now stand and wait at roadside ready to cross. She can still be startled by the likes of joggers approaching her but again this is improving and she no longer goes into flight mode.
Her lead work has also improved massively and will only pull if she sees or gets the scent of deer, so she does have a prey drive and will not be able to be homed with small animals.
Evie is very good in the house and has been non-destructive; she does have slight separation anxiety and can howl for short periods when left. She is very affectionate and likes her fuss and attention.
We feel Evie will be best suited to being the only dog in the house, she can be reactive when meeting new dogs, this is more fear based and with careful introductions is manageable but we would like her to be an only dog so her progress can continue at a pace she is comfortable with.
Evie has been around children but does show signs of fear when approached quickly by young children so we are looking for a home with no young children.
Visits prior to adoption will be encouraged so her transition can be as stress free as possible, she has bonded with her foster family so building up new relationships prior to adoption will be preferred.
